The groundbreaking for the BFC was October 2019, some four years ago! We’ve all been through many challenges and construction delays caused by the global pandemic and supply chain delays. We cannot wait to welcome you to our world-class film center, where you will experience films, educational programs, special series, museum exhibits, industry insiders and special gatherings.

We are pleased to announce that construction has been completed and we welcome all to visit the museum (free) & to see a movie. We officially opened on October 21, 2022. Please check our schedule for films & museum information. SEE YOU AT THE MOVIES!

IT’S BEEN A LONG JOURNEY FROM BREAKING GROUND TO OPENING THE BARRYMORE FILM CENTER!

Officials in Fort Lee, the birthplace of the motion picture industry in America, broke ground for our 260-seat cinema and film museum in 2018. Using engraved ceremonial shovels, Mayor Mark Sokolich, accompanied by members of the Fort Lee FIlm Commission and Borough Council members, dug into the gravel to mark the start of construction. Thank you to all who came to celebrate this historic occasion!
