Our screening of the classic silent, Phantom of the Opera, will have live organ accompaniment by Ben Model. Ben made his 1st BFC appearance last fall for The Big Parade.
Ben Model is a well-known silent film accompanist, historian, presenter, and composer. He is one of the nation’s leading silent film accompanists, performing on both piano and theatre organ. Ben works full-time presenting and accompanying silent films in a wide variety of venues around the USA and internationally. He has created and performed thousands of live scores for several hundred silent films over the past 4 decades. Ben is a resident film accompanist at the Museum of Modern Art (NY) and at the Library of Congress’ Packard Campus Theatre. He also performs at theatres, museums, schools and other venues.
